As we began our planning for Rusche Brothers Butchering, we spent time discussing why we wanted to do this and what we wanted it to become. Working together as a family, sharing our enjoyment and experience processing beef with others, continuing a family tradition, providing a needed service, and caring and working with livestock were all key reasons. We also wanted to share some of the things God has blessed us with, and in turn bless others.
It is awesome to see the variety of skills and abilities God has given to each member of our family. It’s safe to say we couldn’t do this without the individual and unique skills of all involved. However, there is one thing that we share, and that is a desire to be obedient to God’s call and will for our lives.
We’ve selected a scripture verse for Rusche Brothers Butchering to help remind us of God’s call.
It is from 1 Peter, chapter 4, verse 10. It reminds us to use our gifts to serve others as a way to demonstrate God’s grace. But the verses before and after are equally compelling.
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

What an amazing and awesome challenge this is! While we are far from perfect, we look forward to the work that has been put before us and are excited about what we are building at Rusche Brothers Butchering.
